ISHTA Yoga – Primary Series Class Description (Suitable for beginners): ISHTA Yoga blends the ancient and contemporary sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. Benefits include improved strength and flexibility, clarity of mind, and a deeper spiritual practice. The ISTHA primary series is deeply restorative and suitable for everyone, especially beginners. Theclass will integrate simple meditation, pranayama, gentle vinyasa flow, and a series of asanas to bring balance, harmony and healing to the self.
Kristie Maiden has been practicing Yoga for 20 years and undertook her teacher training in the ISHTA tradition with Rachel Zinman in Byron Bay, Australia. Kristie has spent extended time living in Nepal, India and Indonesia exploring the region’s rich spiritual traditions. She has also lived and worked in Sydney, London and New York, and recently moved to Dili. As well as being a yoga teacher, Kristie is qualified lawyer, project manager, and mother of two.
Kristie believes that Yoga helps to bring balance and strength to the body; peace, clarity and brilliance to the mind; and illuminates the true loving self, creating a deeper generosity of spirit then once imagined, and a heart-centered approach to life filled with compassion and gratitude.
