Kids Yoga will take children, ages 5 and above, through enacted adventures that bring yoga poses
to life. Exercises will also include breath work and relaxation techniques involving use of visual imagery, music, and storytelling. Through a variety of games and work with partners the class is designed to build trust and kindle positive thinking, imagination, memory, environmental awareness and more. From time to time, and in small amounts, relevant elements of yoga theory and fundamentals will be introduced. Throughout each class children will be encouraged to explore the boundaries between steadiness and ease, effort and surrender, playfulness and calm, self-expression and the ability to listen.

Yoga For Teens focuses on awareness, cultivating appreciation for the body we have, and maintaining our bodies in a healthy state of functioning. By means of exercises for the physical body, breath, and relaxation techniques, these special yoga classes will explore how to find harmony in the individual self, as well as in relation to others and society at large. We will work both individually, and sometimes with partners or in a group. This class will practice how to express yourself in various ways, within the yoga philosophy of non-violence and truthfulness.

*For the Holiday Term only, parents can register children for which ever classes they can attend and pay just for those classes. Full payment for whichever classes students will attend in the entire Holiday Term is due in advance of the first class of the term, unless special arrangements are made in advance. No refunds will be given after the Holiday Term begins.

Cost is $15usd per child, per class. Classes will only take place if at least 4 children are registered and paid in advance. Look below under ‘Schedule’ & ‘Class Descriptions’ for more information.

All proceeds of the Tuesday 21 May (International Yoga Day) Yoga For Teens class will be donated to Ra'es Hadomi Timor Oan, the National Disabled People’s Organization of Timor-Leste:

From 2012 to 2015 Ahimsa-ka taught yoga to children, teenagers, and young adults of various nationalities. He taught them not only how to work with their bodies, but also how to work together, and how to teach other children, young adults, and adults. Empowering youth with a self-practice of yoga is something that they can fall back on throughout life and share with others. He has run his classes both within and outside of the regular school setting, sometimes together with their parents but mostly in small groups on their own. Ahimsa-ka approaches students on their energetic level and the classes are dynamic, pragmatic, and a broad reflection of all what yoga has to offer.
